A stitch in time?

* Disappointment rife among Euro leftists:

“The most striking feature of the [recent] election results . . . is the fact that the center-left parties across Europe, the Social Democrats and Socialists, have not been able to give a plausible answer, political answer, to the economic crisis,” said Thomas Klau of the European Council on Foreign Relations.

Have they tried David Axelrod?  He’s good with political answers, and in a pinch could send someone over.

  1. Funny you should mention Axelrod. I know him from Misericordia where he has a child living there. I’d guess he may find the social caring of this fine institution another reason to believe in organized caring. I was raised on the same ethos of American self-reliance and tall-in-the-saddle individualism most of us were. And yet I have to say I accept my Social Security checks and especially my Medicare coverage for my 15-year-long cancer enormously important. What gnaws at me is how often government screws things up.

But I still keep taking these government benefits…how to reconcile the two???
