Obama’s jobs bill has appeal . . .

. . . for him. Why so?

* It puts nickels and dimes directly into voters’ pockets.

* It’s a piecemeal small thing that does not interfere with his grand plans.

* It puts (some) Republicans in a bind.

* It gives him cover for campaigning around the country.

More, I’m sure, but those are all that come right to mind.

In any case, it’s coming, we are told.
