Before the election, there was much fear-mongering on the Democratic side about the Republicans’ supposed plans to suppress turnout among Obama voters. After the election, GOP strategist Karl Rove accused the Obama campaign of “suppressing the vote” by running a negative campaign against Romney that kept voters at home.

The truth is much worse. There was, in fact, massive suppression of the Republican vote–by the Romney campaign, through the diversion of nearly 40,000 volunteers to a failing computer program.

There was no Plan B; there was only confusion, and silence.

Shit.

  1. There is no stupidity shortage among Republicans these days, especially the party’s leadership. We now see that Speaker John Boehner is kissing up to Democrats and offering to help them push for another general amnesty, this time for 11 million illegal aliens. Here’s a little quiz for all those who foolishly believe that an amnesty would solve the GOP’s “problems” with Hispanics: How do immigrants traditionally vote? While an amnesty probably would produce a few more Hispanics who vote Republican, the end result would be millions more Democrats. Duh!

      1. Yes, I agree re: Heather McDonald. She’s been on the side of immigration sanity for years. I don’t listen to Limbaugh because like Bill O’Reilly, he’s more mouth than substance. What I want to hear from them – or anybody – is a defense for allowing 7 million illegal aliens to keep their payroll jobs and the issuance every year of 1 million work permits to legal immigrants when 23 million Americans can’t find full-time employment. Anybody you know willing to do that?

      2. You make what I think is called the zero-sum game, as if there’s a static pie with less per slice the more you slice it. Economies don’t work that way, I gather from what smart people say, nor as I see things happening and experience them, from what I’ve learned to say. Doesn’t mean I’m for ignoring the law or against enforcement.
