“Milking this cause for all it is worth” is an expression that aptly suits the situation. As Rahm Emanuel said several years ago, and which has become the mantra by which the Obama administration operates, never allow a crisis to go to waste. When people are emotional and want quick action before more rational thinking takes over, no perfect a time could have been found by Obama to call for measures that, even though many other gun measures and restrictions are not being enforced, will do nothing to arrive at the cause of those who enact senseless gun violence.
A classic ploy used by past dictators and tyrants was part of Obama’s presentation today when he surrounded himself with children as props to further tug at the heartstrings of the American people. The Connecticut shooting, although hideous, only served as the means for those on the radical left to move further toward the time when there will be a gun-free America, like in England, except for those who can always manage to find a gun if their intent is to kill.
