BEER @MONKSOFNORCIA

A good cause here. You must agree.

We have to support our good religious orders, especially the newer communities.

Today I read about a solemn profession at Norcia, in Italy, where there is a great foundation of Benedictines (including not a few Americans).

You might recall that they a) are very traditional and faithful, b) they suffered the loss of buildings and their beautiful ancient church to terrible earthquakes a couple years ago, and c) they make spectacular beer. [Italics added]

Please click and visit their site.  HERE   And learn about their terrific BEER.

I agree.

Fr. James Martin to give keynote at World Meeting of Families

Ridin’ high.

The World Meeting of Families will be held in Aug. 21-26 with the theme “The Gospel of the Family, Joy for the World.”

It is organized by the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, and will include the participation of Pope Francis.

Fr. Martin is an editor at America Magazine, and in 2017 was appointed a consultor to the Vatican Secretariat for Communications.

He is also author of “Building a Bridge,” which addresses the Church’s engagement with those who identify as LGBT and which has drawn significant criticism.

Not everywhere:

Some critics say the book does not directly address Catholic teaching on celibacy and chastity or engage with Catholics who identify as LGBT while observing the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.

Fr. Martin has suggested that same-sex attraction should be referred to as “differently ordered” rather than “intrinsically disordered,” as the Catechism of the Catholic Church states.

He’s hot in bishops’ circles.

MSNBC Analyst Compares Trump’s NoKo Efforts To Ronald Reagan

Pigs are flying at MSNBC.

During a Tuesday morning appearance, [MSNBC analyst and Washington Post columnist Eugene] Robinson praised Trump for sitting down with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and called it very “significant.”

Robinson compared Trump’s press conference after his meeting with Kim Jong Un to Reagan’s “tear down this wall” moment during the Cold War.

Nice.
