The world’s response to climate changing under natural and human influences is best founded upon a complete portrayal of the science.
The U.S. government’s Climate Science Special Report . . . released Friday does not provide that foundation. Instead, it reinforces alarm with incomplete information and highlights the need for more-rigorous review of climate assessments.
So did David Garrow, whose 1986 biography of King, Bearing the Cross, is full of references to King’s sexual escapades.
Garrow wrote about a number of extramarital affairs, including one woman King saw almost daily. According to Garrow, “that relationship … increasingly became the emotional centerpiece of King’s life, but it did not eliminate the incidental couplings … of King’s travels.”
He alleged that King explained his extramarital affairs as “a form of anxiety reduction.” Garrow asserted that King’s supposed promiscuity caused him “painful and at times overwhelming guilt.” (Bearing the Cross: Martin Luther King Jr. and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. He remains an icon, of course. Even today I heard him quoted in a sermon. Nobody’s going to tear down any of his statues. Ever.

By praying it, not announcing or declaiming and not scanning the audience as if giving a lecture or teaching a class. He really means it, and we know it. It’s how liturgy should be. It’s the sine qua non of liturgical practice. You gotta have heart, you can’t be looking around.
The “pray, brothers and sisters” — Orate, fratres in Latin-mass days and still now in the so-called extraordinary form — is another story, of course. Addressing the people, he looks at them. He does not spout the words as if magical incantations. “Behold the Lamb of God — Ecce Agnus Dei — and other parts, same thing.
Novus Ordo? It’s the Paul VI mass, presumably reflecting the wishes of the Vatican 2 council fathers (bishops from around the world) but arguably altered beyond anything most of them had in mind.

Just how rough special counsel Robert Mueller is playing with Paul Manafort goes back before this week’s indictment — to the FBI’s no-knock raid in July.
They picked lock, barged in, pre-dawn, 12 of them with guns drawn, felt up the wife in bed for guns, with intent to traumatize, says source.
Typical of Mueller’s top prosecutor, Andrew Weissmann. ” A former mob prosecutor in New York, [who] specializes in turning witnesses against bigger prey and is not afraid to make things rough for spouses, too.”

This is the Russian “intelligence” about Trump and the prostitutes in Moscow etc., also know as the Fusion GPS, British spy episode, he latest of which features never-Trump Republicans.
Thus we have Free Beacon neocons, never-Trump Republicans, the Hillary Clinton campaign, the DNC, a British spy and comrades in Russian intelligence, and perhaps the FBI, all working with secret money and seedy individuals to destroy a candidate they could not defeat in a free election.

This poem, unusual for him as to subject matter, is prayerful indeed, beginning:
Good and great God, can I not think of thee
But it must straight my melancholy be?
Like a lot of people, it’s not his happiest moment to think of the Christian God with His reputation for justice, the poet being “laden with [his] sins,” even as he “seeks for ease.”
He describes his situation:
. . . I dare pretendTo ought but grace or aim at other end.As thou art all, so be thou all to me,
So, he turned to God, calling him “my judge, my witness, and my advocate. ”
That’s God — judge, witness, defense lawyer. A healthy concept.

War? He’s being blindsided, downsized, stopped at every turn by the minions of the reigning pontiff. who is looking quite Machiavellian these days, ready to give lessons to a Cook County Democrat.
The progressive party in the Vatican has launched yet another attack on Cardinal Robert Sarah.
Even if you’re progressive, you have to wonder at the hardball being played. Is it worth it? one must ask.
If we found out that Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and the Republican National Committee had paid a firm working for the Russians to create a file of fabricated attacks on Hillary Clinton during the election cycle, would the media treat it as an impeachable offense?
Would such efforts be considered an attack on the foundations of our democracy? Would liberal columnists make sensationalist claims that the Russians had “carried out a successful plan to pick the government of the United States”? Would they argue that the election had been rigged? Would they demand that Republicans pick their country over their party?
Of course they would.
What if a major media organization had taken that ginned-up dossier, one that included a number of unsubstantiated stories about Clinton’s supposed sexual fetishes and shady business dealings with foreign powers, and put it online so millions of readers could judge the content for themselves?
What if the firm that helped disseminate that file had been feeding a number of reporters alleged scoops that helped shape post-election coverage? Would we now be engaged in a national conversation about the responsibility journalists have to avoid broadcasting questionable information about candidates?
Would the outlets that ran with those stories apologize for having regurgitated items that might have been concocted by the Russians themselves? Because all of that sure sounds like “fake news” to me.
Yes. An absolute gold-plate certifiable verification.
