Blame Pelosi, not top Capitol cop for Jan. 6 riot

Chicago Newspapers

She’s a wicked witch.

Steven Sund, the popular US Capitol Police chief fired on live television by Nancy Pelosi less than 24 hours after January’s Capitol riot, is sorely missed by his troops in their hour of need.

Sund, a decorated, 25-year career veteran of counterterrorism at the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC, where he was commander of the Special Operations Division, had been running the Capitol police for 18 months.

. . . . .

He had tried for two days to get permission for National Guard backup before the riot but was blocked by people doing the bidding of Pelosi.

Pelosi has never owned up to her role in the woeful undermanning of the Capitol police that day. Instead, she blamed Sund and her loyal House sergeant at arms, Paul Irving.

What Is behind Francis’ Rehabilitation of Judas?by Marian T. Horvat, Ph.D.

Sunday sermons, weekday observations

More on Francis and Judas.

On three different occasions, Francis has praised Judas publicly, suggesting that the apostle who betrayed Our Lord Jesus Christ is a misunderstood personality and “the end of his story” possibly is not Hell. We should not be surprised since on other occasions the same Pope, assuring us he is following in the tradition of John Paul II, proposes that Hell as a physical place does not exist as well.

Joe Biden’s presidency is a reality TV series in a care home

Chicago Newspapers

Today’s presser a case in point.

It’s true, Biden managed not to fall off the dais, or go completely blank, or fall over his dog. It’s true, he matched the topics on his cue cards to the subjects of the questions. But this press conference was nerve-wracking and enervating to watch. It’s obvious that Biden’s mind often has no idea what his mouth is saying. • “When it comes to oversight of U.S. tax dollars headed to the Chinese Communist Party, Dr. Fauci seems like he’s literally whistling past the graveyard,” Perry told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
  • Experts said the NIAID’s grant involved gain-of-function research on coronaviruses, but a federal review board that exists to scrutinize such research was never notified of the grant.

Since Joe Biden’s inauguration, nearly 19,000 unaccompanied children entered U.S. custody along the southern border in March, anall-time monthly high that has forced the Biden administration to house migrant teenagers in convention centers, camps for oil workers, and a military base, according to preliminary government data provided to CBS News.

Is Biden’s spending agenda losing steam?

The Democrats’ coronavirus relief bill, which was about much more than relief from the economic impact of the virus, seemed to enjoy broad public support.

The Dems hope that their next massive spending legislation, which it falsely advertises as an infrastructure bill, will be similarly popular with centrists and some on the center right. That hope isn’t unrealistic on its face.

According to the Washington Post, early polling showed . . .
