Chi noosepapers ignore bishops’ complaints?
They aren’t the only ones ignoring the bishops. Our Oak Park parish has had nothing on the point, nor have parishes I have heard from in Pittsburgh, Joliet (IL), and Brookfield (IL). Nor has anything happened in parishes attended by dozens of my relatives around the country who did not respond to my e-blasted question.
In which vein, let’s hear it for St. John Vianney, in Northlake (IL), where the Tridentine-mass celebrant delivered a very good sermon on the mandate, he who almost never goes political or even currents-events in his excellent homilies. Anybody else out there who should be commended?

Joaquin is not my favorite commentator, but I must say the Mitt man left himself open this time. Tone-deaf Mitt. Why does he say things like that? If he’s so rich, why isn’t he smart?
Not that J. is so smart, as per “jet-setting” below, in which he over-states his case, such as it is. And $60G a day is lunch money for George Soros and the Omaha sage with an exemption named after him; so J. should lighten up on how rich some people are.

This morning, celebrating his victory in Florida, Mitt Romney went on CNN and said: “I’m not concerned with the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs repair, I’ll fix it. I’m not concerned about the very rich, they’re doing just fine. “
Wait, what?
We’re not sure if Mitt knows anything about the “very poor,” but he certainly knows a thing or two about being “very rich.” Today, while many of us are working hard for our paycheck (or struggling to make do without one), Mitt is also hard at work hopping around the country wooing voters (though, not the very poor ones).
Mitt Romney’s earnings for today’s jet-setting around the country are $60,000, and it’s all virtually untaxed “investment income.”
How much will you make today? Is it less than the $60,000 that Mitt will make?
