I am blessed with a great life and the opportunity to work for Leo High School. I get to Leo at about 4:45 most days and start the boilers, do some paper work and get the one of the vans ready to pick up between seven and nine guys participating in early morning activities.

My crew is usually Cyde, Chris, TJ, Mick, Joe, Latrell, Caleb, Gaylon, and Sydney. I begin in Englewood at 74th & Normal, go to Grand Crossing at 66th & King Drive, take that beautiful, historic and inspiring Boulevard north to 35th and Dunkin Donuts!

The lawyers and the media and gutless elected officials have helped every gang and independent sociopath feel free to murder in the knowledge that G. Flint Taylor, Jon Loevy and Locke Bowman as well as the Innocense Project and other massively funded university based ‘feel-good’ coalitions of the comfortable have their backs.

Hickey does not come from nowhere in the matter of black urban crime, being immersed in salvation of black men rather than of black gangsters, at Leo High on Sangamon Street, where young men get not a second chance but a first chance.

Rev. Michael Pfleger in talks with archdiocese to take over struggling Leo High School, a few blocks from the St. Sabina rectory, says Jay Levine of CBS-2, as carried by Sun-Times.

To which Pfleger: neither confirm nor deny:

I’m in discussions with the Archdiocese but you know those are private conversations at this point and I cant comment at this point about those conversations.
