Steve Sailer sights and cites a mainstream beginning of the end of the (love) affair:
Gabriel Sherman’s article “End of the Affair“ in The New Republic recounts a lot of gripes reporters have with the arrogance and secrecy of the Obama campaign. Most of it is the usual dull whining, but this is interesting: . . . .
Good article. The last thing we need is a President who can’t be criticized at all. If he shuts down the press whenever anyone makes him look less than perfect, then what happens to the rest of the Constitution. One can only hope the reporters poke a little more into that manufactured life story.

“‘The whole Obama narrative is built around this narrative that Obama and David Axelrod built, and, like all stories, it’s not entirely true. So they have to be protective of the crown jewels.’ Another reporter notes that, during the last year, Obama’s old friends and Harvard classmates were requested not to talk to the press without permission.”
How telling is that? So far the Leftist press has not attempted to find out the truth; only those on the Right, mostly bloggers, have attempted to find out the truth about this consumate media manipulator and politician.
He comes with corruption baggage from the South Side of Chicago; he did nothing to encourage ghetto blacks to get education, marry before having children, or help them improve their lives — he had no effect on the crime rate, but he is going to bring “Change” to the rest of us and make the sea level go down. Right.
There are strong concerns that Obama does not meet the law’s definition of a native-born citizen which requires that one American citizen parent have lived in the continental U.S. for five years after the age of 16. His mother was only 18 when he was born, and his father was Kenyan. Technically he does not meet the requirements for being a native-born American and thus in not entitled to be President.
This is being ignored by the MSM and McCain does not ask that question, so how will the requirements of the law be met? Will they be ignored or will Congress pass a law changing the requirements to benefit him?
