Another telling quote from the Blatty et al. petition vs. Georgetown

“I have taught at Georgetown for many years. During this time, I have seen the influence of the Catholic Church decrease and secular humanism rise. I find this very disturbing. I have seen the number of times that prayer has been offered in official ceremonies decrease. I have seen pro-abortion groups become louder and louder…

“I have seen the LGBTQ interest group become institutionalized and its members not just be accepted and loved (as they should be), but strengthened in their convictions and vocal in pushing their unhealthy agenda. A ‘Lavender Prom’ was the latest evidence of this, where they were recognized and applauded by the rest of the university. It seems whomever we take money from sets the agenda for Georgetown, no longer the Catholic Church. …This is a sad development, and I long for the Georgetown I came to love years ago.”

Corruptio optim pessima. Which as we all know means the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Confused at Patch

North and Clinton?

Police charged Gregory Guzzo, 55, with driving under the influence of alcohol near the intersection of North and Clinton Avenues. Officers responded to a caller’s report of a reckless driver in the 7900 block of North Avenue. about 4:50 p.m. He was charged with a misdemeanor DUI, police said.

It Patch says so, it must be accurate, right?

WRONG.

There’s a Clinton, but not north of South Blvd.

Georgetown under the gun as not Catholic enough

It’s in a canon law petition filed in the Archdiocese of Washington by author William Peter Blatty, of Exorcist fame, and “alumni, students, parents and faculty, seeking a remedy to Georgetowns weak Catholic identity,” in which a Georgetown graduate recalled:

“My Catholic lifestyle and convictions were sometimes attacked by student organizations and staff members, themselves underpinned by tacit and even explicit University endorsement.

Far beyond nuanced scrutiny or respectful debate, my convictions, especially those regarding the dignity of human life, were instead the subject of sweeping condemnation, even at University-sponsored events. . . . I sometimes felt betrayed by a campus culture which discouraged faithfulness, even while banners everywhere touted the ideal of faith in action.”

“Underpinned by tacit and even explicit University endorsement.” That hurts.

Rep. Lilly at Galewood Sept. 12

Oak Park Chronicles

State Rep. Camille Lilly, who represents most of Oak Park, defended herself vigorously last night (Sept. 12) against what she took to be a scurrilous charge of loose morality from a woman at a Galewood town hall meeting.

The woman, one of sixty or so in the group at a small local church, had called for Lilly and Sen. Don Harmon to “be a moral voice” in their roles as public officials. It was one of many emotion-laden challenges put to them in an hour and fifteen minutes of citizens asking specific questions but also venting about the sad state of things in their neighborhood and the state.

The situation had become maybe too much for Lilly, who had felt the need several times to talk over questioners as she expertly handled the microphone held close to her lips. Whatever the reason, she took the questioner’s challenge as a blot…

Craig James fired by Fox Sports for saying homosexuality is a ‘choice’ to be judged by God

Fox Sports loved him a month ago:

At the time of Mr. James‘ hiring, Fox Sports Southwest executive producer Mike Anastassiou called him a “talented broadcaster who I’ve admired throughout his career. His knowledge of college football and the experience he brings as an analyst will be a tremendous asseticon1.png to our coverage.”

Then they found out about what he said a year ago when running for office in Texas. Too bad. That was then. Now the fascistic stranglehold (word choice for shock effect: name your totaliarianism if you don’t like it) on not only what you say (bad enough) but also on what you said in another life.

And let it be perfectly clear: there shall be no discussion of causes and origins of same-sex attraction. It’s the thing that most annoys, irritates, maddens gay lobbyists and their adherents.

Here’s a starter for that discussion:

Experts agree there are many factors that cause homosexual attractions to develop. In fact, Same Sex Attractions are the result of a complex interaction of a person’s personality, biological inheritance, and developmental experiences. No one factor causes SSA and biology alone never determines orientation. However, same sex attractions usually develop because social and emotional needs were not met in the developmental years.

Understanding that things like personality, family dynamics, and childhood experiences co-contribute to the development of homosexual feelings should make two facts clear: First that no one is born gay, and second that no one chooses to have same-sex feelings. These two facts are vital for both an intellectual study and a charitable view of homosexuality.

No one born that way, no one chooses. Nice statement.

Made in America: Motorola’s Moto X factory

Motorola’s made-in-U.S.A. approach: 2,500 new hires and among other things a faster turnaround:

Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside tells us that having the factory in the US was crucial for the MotoMaker customization program to even exist, but it also offers other benefits to the company from an engineering standpoint. Since Motorola’s devices are designed in the US, having the manufacturing close by lets engineers make quick changes and tweaks to the design and look of the device much faster than if it were located overseas.

In Texas, of course.

It’s where the jobs are.
