Ricketts and DNA news: What’s a union for, anyhow?

Ricketts puts the problem this way:

Ricketts appears to harbor a special animus toward unions, which he believes “promote a corrosive us-against-them dynamic that destroys the esprit de corps businesses need to succeed.”

Or, put another way, they institutionalize discontent. Having been president of a Newspaper Guild unit for a major Chicago daily, negotiating a contract, etc., that’s how I would put it.
