Cringing at mass

Telling why he hesitated to leave the anti-Vatican 2 Society of St. Pius X, biographer of its founder says it was partly because of his:

occasionally having to attend mainstream liturgies for weddings or funerals, all celebrated with varying degrees of cringe-making banality or abuse. Who could live with all that, day in and day out? Wouldnt I be risking my soul to walk into such a situation? No, the SSPX seemed to be, to use a perennial tautology, a safe haven for a Catholic in the current climate.

They do induce cringes, do they not?

Athletes matter at Marquette U.

They give new meaning to extracurricular activity:

All told, five Marquette athletes were accused of sexual misconduct by three female students last year. The university did not report the allegations to Milwaukee police, as required by Wisconsin law. . . . . One of the women, who told police she was raped by an athlete in February, said she was pleased federal authorities are investigating.

Thing is, you have to protect the program:

Two of the women told the Tribune that campus security officers discouraged them from going to police by warning that their accusations would make national headlines. The third said she had no problems with how the school handled the case.

Names, please.
