  1. Sad to say, your “so what?” is so true! The Church has lost its voice in the national marketplace of ideas. To most Catholics and to virtually all non- Catholics, it has no authenticity. And while this marginalization has been earned, it reflects a bigger and sadder reality for me. Philosophy & theology just don’t cut it anymore in our post-Enlightenment age of neurobiological research which suggests we are essentially evolved planetary dust governed largely by lobes and genes.
