Two guys in early 30s talking, I suspect teachers because of reference to coming off spring break but also because talk was of reading and writing, as the book that one said would help his own writing.
One pool-rat conversation doth not a referendum defeat, of course, but the argument is there: the national unease with taxes and spending is a truism by now, in which respect one cannot imagine a worse time for this District 97 vote tomorrow.

The problem with Oak Park’s tax increase is there are few places the local gov’t. can go to except to homeowners. I support sports and the arts in schools, but, I want our local officials to look at other ways to increase revenue’s. We live in very trying and uncertain times of high unemployment, low to frozen wages and fix incomes. The people of Oak Park need problem solver’s. I am not a journalist, but this article was a little confusing to read.
