No context provided as regards immigration issues. Something entirely to make the reader sob or gnash his or her teeth, vote Democratic or do other unadvisable things. Come on, hard-working Sun-Times. This is not the best you can do.

I wouldn’t classify this as a “weeper.” This fascinating bit of unintentional self-parody by Sun-Times propagandist Carlos Ballesteros induced hearty chuckles as I read through it. I especially enjoyed “Beto’s” plaintive request to his friend to send him pictures of his snake. The National Lampoon in the 1970’s couldn’t have done a better satire.Hopefully the man-child Lopez-Gutierrez will permanently grace Jalisco with his reckless driving convictions and other “non-significant misdemeanors.” Oh yes, and my compliments to ICE. Glad to see that at least one law enforcement agency is doing its job.

Minor observation: “weeper” refers to writer’s intent and conventional story classification, often used under impetus of professional cynicism. That said, helpful analysis.
